St. Michael Catholic Church

Community Dinners

Dear St. Michael Community
Because of social restrictions and an uncertain future due to COVID19, we have determined that it is time to end the Third Monday Community Dinners. The purpose of the dinners was always to provide a monthly meal with no strings attached. The support of this community through your faithful attendance, your delicious desserts, and your generous donations is deeply and sincerely appreciated. This ministry was sustained because of your generosity; we never asked for nor received money from St. Michael's general funds. All the money you gave was used to buy food for the next month's dinner. Because we have now made this hard decision, we are left with a sum of money. In consultation with Parish staff, it has been decided to spend half of that money on restocking the church kitchen. The parish was kind in letting us use all the equipment at no charge, and while we were good stewards of the kitchen and everything in it, there are things that need to be replaced for future users. The other half of the money will be given to NEED to feed the hungry in our community.
Thank you for attending the dinners, for all your kind words, for all the new friendships.
Sincerely,
Rick and Janna Maul

The monthly ‘Third Monday Community Dinner’ is an opportunity for the communities our parish serves to come together for a free meal and fellowship. Volunteers help with set-up, serving, and clean-up. Please note: any changes and/or exceptions to the date of the monthly ‘Third Monday Community Dinner’ will be announced in the bulletin. Meals are provided by generous benefactors and attendee donations.
