St. Michael Youth Ministry

St. Michael Youth Ministry provides a dynamic, ongoing formation experience for students in 6th–12th grades through Encounter, starting each Fall.

What is Encounter?

Encounter creates an environment where middle and high school students can encounter Christ, grow on fire with His love, and be formed to go out into the world embracing the call to share the Gospel and live as saints.

We do this by hosting youth nights that offer deep and engaging catechesis, rooted in the truths of the Catholic Faith as found in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium. Through prayer and service, we help youth grow spiritually while encouraging them to discern their vocations and trust in God’s plan for their lives.

Typical Encounter Nights

Each Encounter night begins with time for community building, including games, activities, and snacks. Youth then experience a talk and personal witness, followed by opportunities for:

• Prayer and reflection
• Small‑group discussion
• Recreation
• Discovering their gifts and talents through practicum‑based stewardship development (inhouse service projects, such as working with hospitality)
