Guidelines on how to get your Stimulus checks quickly

  1. You have to file your taxes every year (whether you made an income or not). If you have not, now is time to do it.
  2. Distributions would come via IRS, which would use 2019 tax payer forms to determine how much a person's check would be. If 2019 has not been filed, IRS would then use the 2018 forms.

These steps are important for low income Americans who don't typically file for taxes. People receiving nontaxable income and those receiving Social Security benefits will still get the checks.

Yearly income of $75,000 or less will receive checks for $1,200 with an additional $500 per child.  Payments will decrease for individuals making more than $75,000 with an income cap of $99,000. The time frame for this check to arrive is 3 weeks but will take longer during this time frame for those who are planning to receive paper checks. Taxpayers who signed up for direct deposit will get it faster.

WHERE TO FIND FINANCIAL HELP BEFORE STIMULUS CHECKS DEPOSIT

Are you Stressed?

Remember stress is a normal emotional reaction when things in your life are uncertain.  Structure and order regulate our lives and our emotions.  When we have order, our stress is reduced.

Do your best to maintain structure and order. Do something life affirming and forward looking. Remember your family/social connections, as well as your spiritual connections. If you cannot be with your family, call them, email them.  Call your friends, ask them how they are doing.

Attend Mass online via YouTube or Facebook.  Your grandchildren can help.

Remember we are all part of a greater plan.  Everything is going to be alright.  God is with us.
