2024 Alzheimer's Association Program

The registration links for the May 9 Dementia Live Experience, and for the rest of the series, are now available.

PLEASE NOTE:  This program is not appropriate for individuals who are currently living with any kind of dementia or young children due to the sensitive nature of information discussed.

To enable all families to participate in this important series, St. Michael will staff a Family Event Care Room where entertainment and refreshements will be available to those who should not attend the event.  At the time of registration, you will be asked to if you will need the Care Room and if there are any special needs or requirements.

Sessions will not be livestreamed.  This program is best experienced in-person.  The Alzheimer’s Association has many FREE educational videos available at www.training.alz.org. If you have any concerns about memory challenges, and are not sure if this program is right for you, please consult with your primary care physician.

May 2 – Understanding Alzheimer’s and Dementia and 10 Warning Signs of Alzheimer’s

Learn about the differences between Alzheimer’s and dementia, stages, risk factors and common warning signs and symptoms to look for.

May 16 - Healthy Living for Your Brain and Body

Join us to learn about the latest research providing insights into how to make lifestyle choices that may help you keep your brain and body healthy as you age.

May 23 - Managing Money:  A Caregiver's Guide to Finances

Learn about the costs of caregiving and the benefits of early financial and legal planning.

May 30 - Understanding and Responding to Dementia-Related Behaviors

Learn about some of the common triggers for behaviors associated with dementia, how to assess the person’s needs, and how to intervene effectively.


May 9 - Dementia Live Experience conducted by James L. West.

45-minute time specific reservations required.  Dementia Live® offers a unique inside-out understanding of dementia as well as the aging process. Participants will gain a heightened awareness of the challenges associated with living with dementia and leave with valuable tips and tools to improve communication and connection.  Register for one session only.
