Scheduling Your Date
The following must be done to finalize your date:
- Wedding at St. Michael Catholic Church? Sign the Wedding Guidelines Acceptance Form
- Wedding at St. Michael Catholic Church with Prep Elsewhere? Sign the Preparation Elsewhere Form - in the Wedding Guidelines Packet
- Pay online - Link will be provided
- You're date will not be placed on the parish or clergy calendar until fee and form is received.

Checklist and Timeline
As soon as possible:
Fill out the on-line Marrage Information Form-Click HERE
Preparation at the Parish
- Make and appointment with Deacon Tom Doran ~ tdoran@smcchurch.org
Preparation at the Diocese
- Attend the Pre-Cana Workshop (or, if civilly married, Today, Tomorrow and Forever) – CLICK HERE
- Complete Natural Family Planning Video Online – CLICK HERE
No sooner than 6 months prior:
- Proof of Baptism, if baptized. If Catholic, this must be issued within six months of the wedding date and show notations of other Sacraments received. Contact the church where you were baptized.
- Affidavits of Free Status (2 from Bride / 2 from Groom) - forms below if needed
- If groom or bride has been previously married: death certificate, divorce decree, annulment paperwork, etc.
No sooner than 4 months prior:
- In-person meeting with Deacon Tom Doran at St. Michael– will be arranged.
- Meetings with Sponsor Couple (If a couple is available) – will be arranged.
At least 3 months prior:
- Meet with Sarah Messecar (Wedding Coordinator) 817-312-7613, or by email: shmessecar@icloud.com
- Fill out music form online and submit to Sarah Messecar.
No sooner than 3 months prior:
- Civil Marriage License (if wedding takes place in Texas) at least 90 days before the wedding date.
- Civil Marriage Certificate, if you are in a Civil Union (married before a judge or non-Catholic minister).
2 months prior:
- All items complete. Your Marriage Packet will be sent to the Diocese of Fort Worth.
- 54 days before wedding it is recommended that the couple begins the 54 Day Rosary Novena.
