Guillermo Muñoz Hopes to Build Unity as Hispanic Ministry Coordinator
Since joining St. Michael in September 2017, Hispanic Ministry Coordinator Guillermo Muñoz has felt like part of the parish family. Guillermo, who is also a candidate for the permanent diaconate, was initially assigned to St. Michael for his pastoral year and quickly became involved in parish life.
“Ever since I was assigned here, I got involved with the Hispanic Ministry,” says Guillermo, who was born in Mexico and raised in El Paso, Texas. “A month after I arrived, the coordinator position became vacant. I saw the need and thought, this is the best place where I can help. I started officially on Jan. 1 of this year.”
Through this position, Guillermo seeks to further extend bridges between the diverse cultural groups at St. Michael parish. “Our parish is a multicultural parish” and so, it is important “to work with everyone — it’s really nice to share with each other and be united, because at the end of the day, we are all one parish.
“God brought me to St. Michael for a reason, and I am delighted to serve here,” he adds. “Here in St. Michael Faith Formation is very important, and I’m very proud to be part of this Parish and the Formation Team.”
