EDGE (6th - 7th Grade)
“The world promises you comfort, but you were not made for comfort. You were made
— Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI
WHAT IS EDGE?
If you are a 6th or 7th grader EDGE is the place for you! EDGE is the Faith Formation Program for 6-7th grade and is all about learning how to know and love Christ and His Church. We meet regularly on Wednesday Evenings from 6:30- 8:00pm in the Great Hall during the school year.
Each Semester will have a Theme that we will be studying. The overall Youth Ministry Theme for 2017-2018 is "HEART OF GOD". In EDGE we will discover this HEART OF GOD by studying "CHOICES" a series on Morality (Fall of 2017) and by studying "KINGDOM COME" a series on The Creed (Spring 2018). We will also take time to compete in our annual St. Michael House Cup Competition between our Households, nights focused on the current issues in Middle School and the important Liturgical and Catholic events of the year.
The first year that you are in EDGE, you will be placed in one of our HOUSEHOLDS! This will be done through a fun and interactive Sorting Hat Ceremony in the beginning of the year. This is the beginning of your brotherhood/sisterhood of friends that you will journey through life and your faith with here at St. Michael.
Our households are divided up by gender and grade and have a MENTOR to help guide the teens. These households are built to create a special bond between the youth starting in EDGE and going way beyond their High School Graduation. The Households are: Lion of Judah, Kateri, Knights of Christ, Little Flowers, Frassati, Theotokos.
